What are posts for in Blogger?
Posts are one of the main parts of a blog. You could even say that it is the heart of a blog. Posts allow you to create content and share it with other people. This is how blogging works. No matter what purpose (earning money, helping others, personal notes) you set out on the path of blogging, your most important tool will be posts. It is the articles that will generate the main traffic to your blog, if you do everything right. All posts are displayed on the main page, but in order not to overload it, we have created a page-by-page navigation. You can set the maximum number of posts to be displayed in the Layout - Blog Posts section.
Editor for editing posts
Blogger, like other content creation programs, has its own editor, which is divided into the main "Write" and additional "HTML" sections. In the main editor the content is displayed in the way you are used to, but in HTML it will look completely different, because it contains the content codes that the browser uses to arrange them in a given order. That is, the first Write editor works for readers, and the second HTML editor interacts with the browser and search engines. Most of the tools we need to write an article are in the main "Create" editor, if you go to the HTML tab, you will see that there are much fewer tools and you are no longer as comfortable as you were a second before 😏.
The main editor tools are blogger post editor
There are not so many tools in the editor, but you don't need more of them, what you have is enough to write clear and understandable content. I'll highlight the main tools, namely, uploading images (photos), creating links to other pages or sources, numbered and bulleted lists, and of course, headings and subheadings. More professional writers can use the full arsenal that Blogger has at their disposal. It all works intuitively simple, you just have to try it.
Post settings
The post settings include the right sidebar where they are located:
- Tags - you can use them to categorize your posts.
- Date of publication.
- Permanent link - shows how the link to the post will look like
- Location.
- Search description (meta tag Description) - a short summary of your article.
- Options for displaying comments and HTML code.
As you can see, there is nothing complicated in creating posts. But there is one thing. To be promoted in search engines, you need to create content that is searched for. You will learn how to do this in the next post "How to create posts for search engines". After that, let's move on to studying the next section of Blogger called Pages.
